About the skuy awards

The OPMA was founded in 1966 by Percy Skuy as a way to bring together pharmaceutical marketers to discuss best practices.

After 50 years of industry collaboration, in 2016 the first-ever OPMA SKUY Awards were launched in celebration and recognition of excellence and innovation in pharmaceutical and healthcare marketing.

The OPMA is proud to continue to celebrate industry collaboration and excellence with the SKUY Awards.

Recognizing outstanding marketing and communications efforts in support of drugs and devices, can be primary care, specialty market, or OTC campaigns.

Best Use of Public Relations

Communications efforts promoting awareness and positive perceptions of healthcare devices/products, services, corporations and organizations to the consumers, healthcare professionals, investors or stakeholder groups.

Best Use of Data/Analytics

Recognizing the use of either an innovative market research technique that had led to strategic insights for client business decisions, or a campaign where data and analytics are the main focus of the content for the campaign. Entrants should describe how data was used to make effective business decisions or show how the data was included in the initiative.

Best Disease Education Campaign

Websites, TV ads or other non-film media that promote awareness about specific disease states or health issues.

Best mobile app for healthcare practitioners or patients used to promote a prescription or medical product.

    Young marketing executives who have been in the industry for three years or less, and have excelled in their roles for any healthcare industry organization or marketing agency.

    Industry Marketer of the Year

    Marketing executives who have excelled in their roles for any healthcare organization (pharma, biotech, devices, diagnostics, medical group, suppliers, and associations).

    Agency Marketer of the Year

    Marketing executives who have excelled in their roles for any healthcare marketing agency.

    Personality Awards Requirements:

    Please provide at least one testimonial from a person outside of the nominee’s organization or agency and examples of their work. Please demonstrate how the individual contributed to healthcare marketing in either a leadership, strategic, creative, or support role.

    Our JUDGES

    Our judges are experienced professionals with an in-depth understanding of the current pharmaceutical marketplace, with the objective to score the entries based on a predefined set of criteria to ensure that we recognize the most deserving Canadian work.
